Jesus, said, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep” (John 10:11).
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, named after Jesus, our Good Shepherd who died for the sins of all and rose again, is an independent Lutheran congregation made up of people who trust in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins and for life everlasting.
Jesus also said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27).
As Jesus’ sheep, we hear His voice by believing and teaching all that the Bible says. We follow Jesus by continuing to trust in Him alone for our salvation and by listening to all that He says to us in His Word.
Jesus Christ, God’s Son and our Savior, calls you, too, to trust in Him for forgiveness and life and to follow Him. He shed His blood for you upon the cross that you might be His own and be a part of His everlasting kingdom.
We invite you to join with us in hearing His Word and learning of the salvation He has provided for all people by His innocent sufferings and death in our stead.
Brief History of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church began as a mission congregation in December of 1996. Its purpose is to glorify God, minister to His sheep and spread the Gospel here and abroad. Good Shepherd is a confessional Lutheran church, believing and teaching all that the Bible teaches and administering Baptism and the Lord’s Supper in accord with God’s Word.
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church met in the home of its first pastor and then in an elementary school until its current facility was built on Dixieland Road in Rogers. The congregation dedicated its new building on Palm Sunday, April 19, 1998. It was also a confirmation Sunday for two of the congregation’s young members.
The congregation has regular Sunday morning worship services and also special midweek Advent and Lenten services. In addition to worship, the congregation offers Sunday School and Bible classes for all ages, confirmation classes and adult instruction.
With its offerings, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church provides financial assistance to Lutheran churches and mission work in Korea, the Philippines and in India. One of the congregations in the Philippines is also named Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
